Thats because instead of making the framerate in charge of the game logic, the game logic is in charge of the framerate. The car on the right is twice as fast as the one on the left. You know how some games, if you force the framerate higher, everything moves faster? It's because it's technically not "Framerate" it's "Tickrate".Įxplaining this is a bit technical, so watch this: The STALKER series uses the XRay engine, and unfortunantly, AI logic and other important information is dependant on framerate. Btw thanks you for your solution about Vsync but I simply can't stand Vsync due to the input lag, I would much prefer to just find a way to uncap the framerate and play without Vsync (I think I also tried Vsync anyway and it didn't help)Īgain with this question. I am confident that this problem can only be fixed by uncapping the framerate as I have had and fixed this problem in other games. This is why I need to either uncap or set the cap higher for COP to enjoy it.Īlso, I have tried things like no prefetch mod but they do not help. This causes stuttering it seems, like it did in Red Orchestra 2 when my frame rate was capped at 60, however when I set the fps cap on RO2 to 120 fps the stuttering was completely gone as the game wouldn't drop to 58 fps at any point. The problem isn't that I want to see more frames per second, I am aware of the limitations of my monitor, but the problem is that when the frame rate is capped to my refresh rate in games it seems to sometimes dip down to 58 or something for a split second whilst moving or shooting in the case mostly. I'm guessing you have more than enough horsepower to draw more than 60fps and keeping Vsync on might cure your hitch actually. Then, force triple buffering and make sure Vsync is forced to ON. Personally, if you're using Nvidia I'd go into the Nvidia CP and find the profile for CoP in there. Then, decide from there what you need to do. So, my first guess would be to use FRAPS and see what you're actually getting in game.

So, even though you could be getting 100 fps you won't know unless you're using a test kit of some sort to see your fps.
